Experience: Prior successful teaching experience in a high school Band assignment is desired. Master’s Degree in Music is preferred.

Credential: Single Subject Credential in Music including an English Language Authorization.

Salary: $46,620 to $74,546

Comments: Vista Murrieta High School is located in the city of Murrieta. Vista Murrieta's Band Program is well known across the country for excellence in concert, marching, jazz band, indoor drum line and indoor color guard. The marching band is a consistent finalist band at the Bands of America Regional Championships and a multiple time Grand National Championship semifinalist. The marching band is also one of the only bands in the United States to have received the Al Castronovo Memorial Esprit de Corps Award twice, and is one of the only 80 bands in the world to have received the John Philip Sousa Foundation Sudler Shield Award.All four Vista Murrieta concert bands regularly achieve "Superior" ratings at the annual concert festival. All three jazz ensembles consistently place at festival, and the top jazz ensemble submits annual recordings for the prestigious "Essentially Ellington" competition and festival held each year in New York City. In 2017, the Varsity Winter Drum Line won the gold medal at the Southern California Percussion Alliance "Open" division championships. All three Winter Color Guard teams routinely medal at the Winter Guard Association of Southern California and Winter Guard International Regional Championships each year, with consecutive gold medal accolades and division wins presented to the Varsity Winter Guard team for the second year in a row.Ensemble classes are supplemented with college dual enrollment music theory and music history courses. Vista Murrieta High School is looking for an energetic, fun, highly organized, technology proficient woodwind specialist to help maintain core program functions, while also stimulating growth and progress in all areas.
