We are currently searching for a teaching artist for our consulting project, the Dominican Schools Music Project, for a K-8 position in Ukiah, CA at St. Mary of the Angels School. The position would be a etiher music only as a part time position or it can be combined with assisting in classroom instructional groups to be full time. The position would start with our Teacher Academy on August 18-20 in San Francisco and continue through the 2010-11 school year. A Teaching Artist will meet the following criteria:
-Bachelor of Art Degree or an Advanced Degree in Music/Music Education or the Fine Arts

-Experience in preparing for various concerts
-Has reliable transportation to teaching location or willingness to relocate for the duration of the contract
-Experience working with middle school aged students highly desirable
-Experience working with general music and choral classes
-Knowledge of Orff and Kodaly methods desirable
-Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
-Willingness to connect music instruction to other subjects in school curriculum through learning about and implementing the ETM curriculum model.

LECTURER IN CHORAL DIRECTING:
To direct the NightinGaels, the college's choir of approximately twenty women and men which sings classical, folk, and jazz repertories. Rehearsal is every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 p.m.  -6:30 p.m.   The Lecturer will prepare the choir for two concerts per semester, and other shorter performances as requested by the College, including Convocation and Graduation; organize an annual tour; actively participate in student recruitment to ensure the program grows and thrives; conduct managerial and administrative functions of running a choir; participate in departmental and College service activities, mainly recruiting, and should also be committed to an undergraduate liberal arts education. An accompanist/Asstant Director is provided for all rehearsals and performances. 


Qualifications:  Candidates should hold a Master’s or advanced degree in music with a record of experience and excellence directing choral music.

Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir, Alameda County

Choral:
The Piedmont Eastbay Children's Choir has two openings for choral conductors on Wednesday afternoons beginning in September 2010. The first opening is a one-semester substitute position conducting the Girl's Beginning-level choir, a group of 30-3 girls ranging in age from 6-8. Class meets from September 2010-January 2011.

The second position is a permanent position conducting the Boy's Advanced-level choir, about 15-20 boys, ages 8-10. Groups rehearse in Piedmont on Wednesday afternoons from 4-6pm. In addition to weekly rehearsals, conductors are expected to participate in auditions and concerts.
